Roku – Productivity Trick – monitor your stats automatically

By Aaron M Spelling

We all know – or should know already, that Roku is constantly changing, adding new options and suspending others.

Sometimes these changes are made public, but most of the time, they don’t announce publicly when they “tweak” the platform.

And most of the time, these “minor tweaks” (according to Roku) can make a huge difference in how a user can or should use the platform.

One of these tweaks can help you monitor and assess your channel performance without the need to log in and wait for the reports to be generated.

How to monitor your stats automatically?

Easy, follow these very easy steps.

Log into your Roku developer account, then access the My Channels Tab.
Select the channel you want to monitor, then click the “View Analytics” button.

From the second Drop Down, select one of the five available parameters you want to monitor

On the next page – on the right side, click on the three dots and select “Schedule Delivery.”

A new window will pop up with three tabs.

The first Tab or option is the main setting for your schedule.

The time when the report would be generated and delivered, the email address where you want to receive the news, and the report format.

The second Tab is for filters – here, you can adapt the report to your needs and select the period and channel store that should be covered in this specific report.

The third Tab is for Advanced Settings.

If, for example, you want to auto-send the message to your client directly from Roku, you can include a personalized message.

Or if, for instance, you monitor multiple channels, you can add a note for yourself to “help you” remember what channel and client the report is for.

Keep in mind that you can generate multiple reports.

For example, you can ask a weekly report and a monthly report.
You can ask to include the past week or month or … up to you.

I hope this little “tweak” will help you in your daily activity.

See you in the next article.
